Both can help your game. Individual lessons can help both your singles and doubles game. Group lessons can help your singles and, more importantly, your doubles game. An individual can be more costly, but 1-on-1 attention from the coach to the student there is the most improvement. A group can be more cost-effective, and there will be more improvement in doubles play/strategy.

Introduction, of course, about who you are and your story regarding your racket sports experience. Based on experience, I will then pursue some hand-eye coordinated drills, allowing me to assess where you might be. Then, we will discuss goals and aspirations on why you/group are taking lessons. From there, I will develop some lesson plans. Please refer to lesson plans doc seen on “Book a Lesson” pg. to see more details.
-
There are some significant differences and some similarities. If you have experience in one, I will help you translate it to the other racket sport efficiently and effectively. Hence, we will expound on the similarities and leave the differences behind. Not too many coaches teach both these sports as they believe it affects their game too much. I have found the balance between them and would love to teach you how to find that balance between them too. Or, if you want to stick to one, I can also help you do that and transition appropriately.

College tennis was always a dream, but in my senior year at West Ottawa High School, I injured myself, getting cut from the team, which led me to join the Air Force. I could have become a better player, but not as good of a coach, if it were not for my experience in the Air Force teaching fellow Airmen tennis through the Air Force Base Recreational Department.
While pursuing my MBA at GVSU, I taught tennis through the Uber of Tennis, “Play Your Court”. I would drive throughout West Michigan teaching tennis while most clubs and academies were closed due to COVID-19. This experience helped me lean in more to the possibility of teaching tennis for a living, but it was not quite there as a full time job with the hours for just teaching tennis.
That experience led me to MVP Holland upon graduating with my MBA, where I teach not only tennis, but, pickleball part-time. I was going to go back to an 8-5 until my entrepreneurial wife said we should start a little marketing business, her as the designer, me as the photographer, and both of us with marketing degrees and sales experience. Fresh Swell Creative was born. While at MVP, I noticed the demand ramp up as I started teaching more pickleball. All of this demand goes outside when the Michigan weather warms up, as MVP Holland does not have outdoor courts, so I decided to meet that demand through Lakeshore Sports Coaching. Providing pickleball and tennis lessons outside to my local community at our local courts. Before COVID-19, I was a packaging sales account manager for a packaging distributor. I would conduct a door-to-door business-to-business service, providing solutions to businesses throughout West Michigan, helping them get their products out the door more efficiently and cost-effectively, saving them time and money. Now, I am going to businesses in West Michigan, boosting morale with corporate coaching pickleball. I went from helping people with their packaging to packaging a fun team-building event through pickleball coaching and capturing all the fun through professional photography.
